Making blobs jiggle and cubes crumple.

A series of object simulations based on the idea of inertia and surprise.
Anna approached me with some frames and ideas about what these objects should do. I then created a heap of controlled simulations in Houdini using the Vellum cloth engine. We went backwards and forwards until these pieces had a nice sense of suprise to how the objects would move, and then a very satisfying motion and inertia once they get going.
All simulations done in Houdini, with lighting and rendering in Cinema 4D / Redshift and compositing in After Effects.
Houdini wireframe of the Vellum cloth simualtion.
